Release 1.2 Changelog
This page contains public information on Release 1.2.
Bluebird Documentation has about 50 users as of now! With also launching our newest feature (Walkthroughs), I thought it would be a good idea to use this release to make changes based on user feedback, and to really polish the Walkthrough feature.
Themes
As usual, this release will have it's new theme. The new theme being added this release is Dark Purple Theme.
UI Enhancements
There are still several areas where the UI may not make a lot of sense. Just want to make sure that particularly UI navigation makes sense for users that are/aren't signed in. For example, if a user is viewing a public document (not signed in), there should be quick navigation to login/register.
Quill Editor (Rich Test Editor)
These are actually features that were meant to be in Release 1.1, but due to prioritizing other things that came up, these were pushed to this release.
- If users are using a larger display, they'll have the chance to use side by side view when creating/editing a document.
- Add an option for block quote for multiple lines. Current quote option doesn't allow new lines.
- Revamp look of the text editor to match the theme.
Team Workspaces
As of now, users can collaborate on documentation via invitations, but this is still a "flat" layer of collaboration. What I'm trying to add in coming releases is the ability for users to create "organizations" or "team workspaces".
With these, users can establish roles for its members, and create a hierarchical approach to collaboration.
This is likely something not to be featured in this release, so there aren't going to be any actual tasks for this release like you might see below. This release will only include the planning portion for this feature.
Documentation/Walkthrough Enhancements
- Add an option to export documentation as a PDF.
- Create and implement a new UI for creating/editing Walkthroughs; especially to make selecting documents for Walkthroughs easier and more efficient.
- For Walkthroughs, add the ability for viewers to annotate/highlight elements of documents in Walkthroughs.
UI Enhancements
- Improve UI for medium size displays.
- Adjust sidebar for smaller displays. Things like the drop down button to display child pages is too small.
Bugfixes
- Changing a space to a page might cause a loss of its child documents. Fix this to always display child documents; regardless whether the parent was originally a space or not.
- Changing the name of a parent document will also cause lost child documents. Fix this by updating the parent document on all child documents to accurately display the new parent name.
