Release 2.0
This page contains public information on Release 2.0
Being the next major cycle in the development of Bluebird Documentation (BBD), we're going to try to bring about some really cool, new features to BBD!
This release will take a lot longer that previous releases to complete; however, there will be mini-releases along the way. These are intervals throughout the release cycle where some of the completed features are released before the release date.
This release will contain the usual bugfixes and general enhancements, and will also contain exiting new features that are mentioned below!
New Features
These below are entirely new features that are coming to BBD!
Description Analysis
This feature aims to help users prevent the creation of duplicate documentation. When documentation starts to pile up in a workspace, it's very easy to start creating duplicate documentation.
One of the unique perspectives that BBD wants to push is solid content management. Documentation spaces across many teams tends to become way too bloated. This usually leads team members to just stop reading through documentation.
This feature aims to help prevent users from creating duplicate documents, and help users trust their team's documentation process.
The way we plan to implement this is through document descriptions. When a user creates a document, and writes in their document's description, BBD will try to analyze and compare this description with other existing document descriptions to determine if there is a possibility of a duplicate.
Document Analyzer
While the Description Analysis feature aims to prevent the creation of duplicate documents, the Document Analyzer feature aims to find existing duplicate documentation.
This feature will actually dig through document content to find potential duplicates. It's not so much about entire duplicate documents, but more so about finding where content is duplicated throughout your documents.
The details of the implementation are still being planned and worked out, but this is meant to be a more sophisticated feature than just simple text matching.
Document Uploading My Notebook
We're going to be adding the ability for users to upload documents like PDFs in My Notebook, so users can apply markups and such to them.
To start, we'll be implementing this as a separate feature within My Notebook. After initial implementation, we'll look into integrating this feature into notebooks.
Swift Notes
This is an exciting new feature that is coming to BBD! This feature will give users the ability to transcribe audio, and produce an AI generated summary.
If you're in a meeting, and want to have notes for later, just initiate recording, and after recording is finished, our privately hosted AI will summarize the transcribed audio. Users simply input audio, and they'll be returned with the full transcribed text, and an AI generated summary. Given the full transcript and summary, users can finalize their notes as a personal document or a team workspace document
To keep this feature free, we won't be able to store audio files, or anything that is not finalized as a personal or team workspace document. If users wish to keep their audio file, or the full transcript, they'll be given the chance to download them before they are discarded.
General Enhancements
- All spaces in the sidebar should visually be at the same level.
- Add drawable shapes in My Notebook editor.
- The batch sync setting is not stable. We'll be removing this save setting for this release, and reimplementing it in a later release.
- The ability to expand account storage beyond 2GB.
- Make workspace dashboard widgets customizable in the workspace settings page.
- In the Quill text editor, when in full screen mode, the toolbar doesn't stick to the top of the browser window. This means that users have to scroll back up to select something in the toolbar.
